Submissions for WICF’s 10th Annual Festival Are Open

(Boston, MA) – In 2019, The Women in Comedy Festival (WICF) will celebrate its 10th Anniversary from May 2-5 at various venues in Boston, Cambridge Somerville, and Medford, Massachusetts. The largest and fastest-growing female-focused festival in the country, WICF has represented a diverse and inclusive group of talented  women for the past 10 years.

Live show submissions are open to comedians of all genders in the categories of stand-up, improv, sketch, and musical comedy. Applicants can submit their act at through January 22, 2019.

Once again, the Women in Comedy Festival is thrilled to partner with HBO. Industry representatives from HBO and other networks, talent agencies, and major festivals will attend the festival scouting for talent, leading panels, and sponsoring events. 

Past headliners include: Wanda Sykes, Tig Notaro, Emma Willmann, Maria Bamford, Jane Lynch, Lily Tomlin, Aparna Nancherla and many more.

In addition to the headlining acts, WICF showcases hundreds of up-and-coming comedians each year. Past participants who’ve gone on to write and perform in television and film include Sasheer Zamata (Saturday Night Live), Nicole Byer (The Girl Code), Phoebe Robinson (2 Dope Queens), Michelle Wolf (The Daily Show), Jenny Zigrino (Bad Santa 2, IFC), Sam Jay (Saturday Night Live) and Josh Gondelman (Last Week with John Oliver.)
